I can't believe they have that CRE in Victorian schools! Never heard of it in WA. I wonder who managed to push that through. My parents are both teachers so they would have told me if this was going on in WA schools.
I was thinking the other night about the whole god-religion thing and I thought to myself that I suppose I wouldn't outright tell my future kids that I don't think god exists, so that they wouldn't be too influenced, but then I thought hang on a sec! Of course I'm going to tell them what I think. If they want to believe in god then they can go for it, but I'm certainly going to let them know that I think religion actively tries to brainwash people into believing there is a god. If there really was a god, why would we need to be told about it, why wouldn't we just know it in ourselves without the weekly church sessions?

Good for you! I agree with you on the 'opt in' but when they get into high school not in elementary school. It should be an elective course.
