Best TV show ever written.

Wouldn't we all love to have a reunion to get Archie's opinion on recent events? It's a shame this show wouldn't be written today. I'm very thankful it was written, however. It's pure brilliance. I'll spend a portion of today trawling YouTube eppies.

Classic TV.... I think I watched more of the Jeffersons than All in the Fam.

I loved this show back in the day! My family was quite similar to this, believe it or not. Bizarre.

Archie's only funny if you can laugh at him, but one of my Uncles was EXACTLY like Archie Bunker. I'll never forget him pointing to the TV once and proclaiming, "That man has a lot of wisdom".

His virtual hero-worship of Archie Bunker is what keeps me from embracing the humour of the show. He couldn't have been the only one that saw Archie's racism as justification for his own.

Archie would have been apopleptic.

My dad pretty much IS Archie Bunker. A lot of people can watch this show thinking that Archie is a caricature of racism/sexism, but he really was a complex man - as many racists/sexists are.

I can vouch for Sy on that.

I love this show. Love. It. Unfortunately, I don't think he majority of the American public would understand that it's satire. I like what Sylvania said, Archie is complex. He wasn't just a stereotype, he was a real person. You know, your average racist next door.
